The 2 AM Moments
Its the late night thinking at 2:30 in the morning. Its the stress and worry of what's going to happen the next day. its the “i have to be up in 4 hours and 24 minutes” statement that we spend way too much time on. The feelings of sadness and grief. the feeling of being all alone and helpless. wishing someone was with you at that very moment to hug you and tell you “its gonna be ok just get some sleep..”
Those are the things that we all encounter yet we as humans feel the need to deny them and pretend they dont happen in an effort to seem more “normal”. But what is “normal” these days? sadly normal is just this. hiding the times at 2:30 in the morning when your sad and stressing about the next day, counting down to the minute till you have to be p and saying “ i should get some sleep.” sadly. thats todays normal.
People try so hard to fit in and be accepted by everyone who they feel is higher than them. But all for what? To live the same lie they are? To hide your 2 am moments? Sounds like a great plan dont it? How about this; You find the few people you know who can accept reality and dont ignore the 2 am moments but yet embrace them and work them through. How about knowing who you can call at 2:30 and have that “ Its all going to be ok” talk. How about turning all the restless nights into nights of great rest because you can sleep peacefully knowing your not alone. Dont it sound great? But here's a heads up, if you find a person like that.. hold on and never let go because you got yourself something special.
Just remember during your 2 am moment that eve if your doing this all on your own and your not very good at it.. that there is another person sitting in there bed thinking “shit i have to be up in 3 hours and 47 minutes, i probably should get some sleep.” so give yourself the pep talk.. “its all gonna be ok *hug* now get some sleep hun..” dont worry about hiding your 2 am moments from people because if they really care and love you they will respond with “ call me next time” because those 2 am moments are the moments when you show your true colors, weather it be the slap happy one whos jumping around playing just dance saying “shit i gotta go to bed” ; or the one sitting there in pain and all alone. needing the hug and “ its all gonna be ok” said to you. its who you are the good and the bad. So share your 2 am moments with the people who truly care about you.
